Exhaust fabrication is the process of designing, building, and installing a custom exhaust system to improve a vehicle’s performance, sound, and efficiency. This involves cutting, bending, and welding piping—typically stainless steel or mild steel—to create a system that optimizes exhaust gas flow from the engine to the rear of the vehicle. A well-fabricated exhaust can reduce backpressure, improve turbo spool on forced-induction setups, increase horsepower, and enhance throttle response, while also producing a deeper or more aggressive exhaust note depending on the chosen mufflers and resonators. Custom systems are often built for modified or performance vehicles, such as the Nissan 350Z, where factory exhaust components may restrict airflow or not meet the owner’s performance goals.
